Long time, no see. I haven't blogged since January of this year! Whoops! With all of today's social media...my blog unfortunately got pushed to the back burner. Well, I'm here today to let all of you know (who follow, of course..hehe) I have updated my Etsy store and have a few paintings currently up for sale! :) Link to my Etsy store is at the bottom of this blog post. ;)
The first painting is my favorite and I was actually quite reluctant to part with it. It's of my FAVORITE character of all time...HARLEY QUINN!!! It's an 18x24 inch acrylic painting on canvas. It is sealed with Krylon Satin Finishing Spray. It features Harley in her original and iconic outfit from "Batman: The Animated Series". While trying to decide on poses and accessories in the painting, I decided to use Margot Robbie's likeness. BTW, I LOOOOOOOVED Margot as Harley in "Suicide Squad"!
Next is a collage of sorts of Justice League member logos. Of course, I had to add my favorite, Batman! ;) This would look great in a collector's Justice League collection, or a child's room or any other Justice League fanatic! :)

"My Favorite Artists" Blog Series #14: esau13
Number 14 in my "Favorite Artists" Series!!! My favorite number!!! With that said, I have a super talented artist to feature today: Esau Murga aka DeviantArt user: esau13!!! I first started following Esau because of his amazing "Mortal Kombat" fanart. It's some of the best that I have ever seen! Let's dive right into some of my favorite works!
The first piece that drew me to Esau's work was this gorgeous fanart of "Mortal Kombat's" Edenian Princess, Kitana! My favorite part is the face mask with it's beautiful golden embellishment. Her blue eye makeup is perfectly placed and the shiny metal of her deadly fans is awesome! Not only is this one of my favorite pieces of art by Esau but also one of my favorites of any "Mortal Kombat" fanart!!! It's gorgeous!
Next up is another "Mortal Kombat" fanart of the Thundergod himself, Raiden!!! Raiden is one of my favorite characters and I think this drawing sums him up perfectly. The picture as a whole has a dark feel to it which makes the lightning surrounding him POP! I especially love the red glow in his eyes. His outfit is drawn exactly as it should look and I love it!
I LOOOOOOOVE HARRY POTTER!!!! So this drawing of Harry Potter villain, Lord Voldemort is amazing!!! Esau was able to make the Dark Lord look even more sinister than in the movies! He went more with the look described in the books, giving Voldemort bright red eyes. Ooooo...so creepy! I love it! Also, the dark swirls add a nice cloudy touch while also showing Voldemort's followers coming to meet him. Very cool!
It's usually hard to be interested in most people's "original characters" but Esau has one, "Demon of the Lake". The character is a beautiful woman and in his newest drawing of her, you can definitely see it! I love her makeup...the dark red and black. I love it.
If you want to see more of Esau's super talent, check out his DeviantArt page at this link: http://esau13.deviantart.com/

My Favorite Artists Blog #4
Today's blog is on artist, Daniel Kordek from Poland who uses the username, daekazu on Deviantart. He has a HUGE list of deviations (over 500) ranging from "Harry Potter", "Disney Princesses" to "The Hunger Games" and soooo many more. I'm going to be completely honest here...when I first started "watching" daekazu on DeviantArt, I thought he was a girl. Apparently so have a lot of others since he posted a DeviantID with arrows pointing at himself, saying "me". haha I don't really know why I assumed he was a girl. Going by his style and choice of subject, maybe? I don't really care because he is an EXTREMELY talented artist!
I can't be sure of the first piece of art of Daniel's that I saw but it may have been this drawing of some of the Disney Princesses. I am a HUGE Disney Princess fan, so I would have come across this one at some point because it is so bright and colorful.
In his earlier work, such as this one, all of his subjects kind of have the same face. In his later work, he keeps his style but changes it a little to reflect an almost "realistic" style. Take a look at this little "series" Daniel has where near Valentine's Day, he posts these separate pages of a bunch of couples in different fandoms and series. There is literally EVERY couple imaginable, from Jasmine and Aladdin to Rose and Jack from Titanic. Looking at the top left image, you can see he started with more of a cartoonish style to now, (bottom right) he has more realism while keeping his personal style. There is more shading and depth to his drawings. Very beautiful.
One of my favorite drawings is Daniel's "Snow White" drawings. He drew it around the time when both, "Snow White and the Huntsman" and "Mirror Mirror" were coming out and on one side, he drew Charlize Theron and Kristen Stewart's versions of the "Queen" and "Snow White" and on the other side, he drew Julia Roberts and Lily Collins' version while both are in the costumes from the Disney version. Three different versions of Snow White, in one drawing! It's such a great idea for a drawing. What I really like about it, is each costume is the same concept but looking closely, you can see slight differences such as the hair, the collars and each Queen's jewel.
Another fantastic idea drawing done by daekazu, is this "Batman and Catwoman" piece. The drawing is split down the middle with the left side being the Michelle Pfeiffer/Michael Keaton version and on the right is the Anne Hathaway/Christian Bale version. Another very interesting concept. This drawing shows perfectly the style of Daniel Kordek that I love. It has a painterly look to it and drawn in his personal style while still being able to clearly see Michelle Pfeiffer and Anne Hathaway.
