Drawing My Twin Sister!!!

Here is my next drawing! My twin sister liked the drawing I did of myself and asked me if I would draw her and her fiance. She bribed me by telling me she'd buy me 3 boxes of Cheerwine ....mmmmm, my favorite soda! haha Anyway...I also have a speedpainting video of the process if you want to check that out as well on my YouTube channel: Sister Speedpaint
Hope she likes it! ;)

ANOTHER PINTEREST SUCCESS!!!

If you are like me, you are obsessed with the website Pinterest. It's a virtual pinboard where people "pin" things from other websites to share with others, whether it be makeup looks, home decor, recipes or just cute animal pictures.

Usually when I look online for recipes or DIY projects, they never really turn out right. Since discovering Pinterest in September of 2011, I have spent hours and hours browsing the highly addictive website. Every recipe "pin" that I have tried myself has turned out successful! From the Golden Graham Smores bars to the Chik-fil-A Chicken Nugget Recipe, they have all turned out DELICIOUS!

After trying recipes, I thought it would be fun to try some "DIY" or "Home Remedy" treatments. I haven't tried too many yet except for the "pin" that explains dropping a couple of drops of Saline solution or eyedrops into your mascara to keep it fresh. It worked! Thankfully! :)

My newest and most surprising "pin" is how to clean Microfiber furniture with rubbing alcohol and a clean, white scrub sponge. Yeah, for real! What you do is fill a spray bottle with rubbing alcohol and spray the spots you need to clean. Next, use the clean scrub sponge to rub the alcohol sprayed areas. Wait for the furniture to dry and then use a clean scrub brush to fluff the fabric back up. Then you are DONE! Here are a few before and after shots of my couches! ;)

Here is the before photo of the doggie slobber cover couch. See one of the four culprits at the bottom! ;) hehe

Here is the before and after shot of the loveseat cushion that I tested first. We usually leave a small dog blanket covering this cushion because it was the worst! See the after photo! Not perfect but a HUGE improvement after years of dirty dog feet and slobber! I love my furbabies!!! :)

Last but not least, here is the couch. Again, not a HUGE difference but it is a noticeable difference! I'm pretty happy with it! I think after a couple more times of this, it may look new again!

So, if you have a Microfiber couch that you are thinking of throwing out because you think it's impossible to clean....TRY THIS FIRST! It can save you a LOT of money! I mean, would you rather spend about an hour scrubbing your couch with alcohol or spend a few hundred dollars on a new couch!? I'd choose the rubbing alcohol! hehehe

Anyway...thanks for checking this out! Hope it helps some of you out!!!

ME!!!!

So...there are all these sites that I use where you can have some sort of cool header or in the case of Facebook, a "cover photo" or a "DeviantID' on DeviantArt. I don't really take too many pictures of myself so I don't have that many different ones to choose from so I decided to draw myself! Plus, drawing myself gives me the chance to make myself look cooler than I really do. hahaha So here is me in all my Batman t-shirt wearing glory! ;)

That AMAZING Couple!!!

I'm very pleased to announce that I have the go-ahead to post the cover I drew for the upcoming "Blood Bonds" by Ashlynne Laynne! It's the sequel to the amazing "The Progeny".

This cover also features the two leading characters, Shauna and Ascher. The setting for this book cover depicts a darker novel. Shauna and Ascher's relationship gets deeper in this one.

Again, please visit the amazingly talented author Ashlynne Laynne at her website. You can also find her at her Facebook fanpage. To keep up-to-date of the series visit the Facebook fanpage!

NEW DRAWING!!! HOLLY!!!

Hello all! I did this latest drawing very quickly and I am extremely proud of it! I was able to finish it in 2 days! I think that may be a record for me!!! haha The character is an original from a VERY talented artist that I found through DeviantArt. Her name is Sanne and her DeviantArt username is Kampfkohlrabi. I have just fallen in LOVE with her OCs and their series "This City Sucks".

Not only does Sanne draw these awesome characters...but she gives them all interesting little backstories! Holly always jumped out to me because of her style. She has pink in her hair and a nose and lip piercing. She just looks so freakin' cool! I love her! She has a sad little incident that happened to her resulting in her having to walk around with a cane. But her cane is pretty awesome looking and totally fits her.

So, to learn more about Sanne's "Holly" and the rest of the "This City Sucks" gang, including a yummy fella by the name of Kieran, go visit Sanne's DeviantArt page! ;) I love Kieran!!! haha

Alrighty everyone...here is my interpretation of Holly!

Sorry I've been away....

So...yeah. I am a HORRIBLE procrastinator!!! I mean, I sometimes know I am doing it but I just can't help it. From now on, I am going to work so much harder to try and keep up with drawing jobs, filming my YouTube videos and keeping up with this blog! So, to start off this new "procrastination killer time"...here is my new blog featuring my newest drawing!

This drawing was my entry into a contest for the cover for a book called "The Obsidian Phoenix" by A.M. Jandia. I read the book and I really loved it. Unfortunately for me, I did not win the cover contest but it's alright. The winner did an amazing cover! If it were me, I'd choose that other cover than the cover I did. I am nowhere near as good as an artist as the winner of the contest. I get my inspiration from watching those kinds of artists on DeviantArt. I keep telling myself that to get to the place I want to be is to practice, practice, PRACTICE! I mean, who hasn't heard the cliche (but completely accurate) saying, "practice makes perfect"?

It's going to be a while before I can be as good as I want to be but until then...I will enjoy what I can do now. I mean, I actually like this drawing. I usually never like anything that I do. I don't know why. My Mom always tells me that an artist is their own worst critic. That is extremely true in my case. People tell me all the time how "good" I am but all I see is, "I need to improve on this" or "I need to be able to draw like that".

Anyway...here is my latest drawing. "Crimson Steele" from the book "The Obsidian Phoenix":

Two AMAZING unknown characters...for now! ;)

Recently I was asked to do a drawing of two characters from a book that is going to be released around Valentine's Day 2012. The characters are Shauna and Ascher. Shauna is a bi-racial Wiccan and Ascher is a human, vampire hybrid. The description of the book by the author is :

“No fate other than the one I choose.” The timeless creed, and tattoo, bore by the Rousseau’s— a vampire clan with the purest bloodline of any vampire family. Out of this clandestine group came one who was different, yet the same: Ascher - a half-bloodling— half- human, half vampire.

Ascher questions the purpose for his existence and which world he truly belongs to: the human world or the vampire world. Two months from sealing to Ursula— a prearranged union to a woman he abhors — he’s at his wit’s end. He knows if he calls off the sealing, the Romanian clan will strike with deadly force, but he cannot see eternity with a cold empty shell of a woman like Ursula.

Just when he thought life was complicated enough, he meets Shauna— a beautiful, bi-racial human wiccan — and immediately develops an unshakable attraction to her. She makes him feel alive and vital despite his origins and Ascher makes a decision that turns his immortal world upside down.

I have had the amazing opportunity to get a "sneak peek" into the world of Shauna and Ascher and have fallen completely in LOVE with the novel already!!! I really can't say enough good words about the book without sounding repetitive. I cannot wait for the world to meet these characters! However, the novel is very adult-oriented and detailed. So, as I was told..."be prepared".

For more on the novel and to keep up on details of it's release, you can "like" the Facebook fan page: The Progeny Series

More on the author, you can "like" her Facebook fanpage: A.S. Lane/ Ashlynne Laynne

Now on to the first image of more that are DEFINITELY going to come! ;)
